You wont find your answer here, as I said this is a forum for the "gOS aspects" of gOS, obviously some simple "architectural" issues can and will be dealt with here. But this isn't one of those simple questions, so you are better of by going to the place where the real knowledgeable users are, at the Ubuntu forum.
Here you simply wont find enough knowledgeable people.
The gOS forum exists for gOS (obviously), so we deal with gOS's unique issues, issues that are gOS specific, such as how to control the "dock", and such things.

lucasbiaggini wrote:I am facing exactly the same problem. Sucessfully booted from a usb pen drive containing the iso of the live cd, created using the universal pendrive linux installer (http://www.pedrivelinux.com) and when i try to install in my har drive, the partitioner only recognizes my pendrive, not my hard drive. My hard drive contains 2 partitions, one with win xp and another with sidux linux, but after installing the ssidux i couldnt boot on xp anymore, so i reinstalled the win xp and now i cant boot on the sidux, thats why i am trying to install gos, in hope i can make the dual boot to work.
I have tryed doing what someone suggested to check all the hard drives using fdisk -l. It returned the following, showing only my pendrive
Disk /dev/sda: 16.9gb, 16904093696 bytes
64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 16121 cylinders
units= cylinders of 2048* 512 = 1048576 bytes
disk identifier 0xb0bcd68e

This doesnt look like a partition table
Probably you selected the wrong device

And then it shows the partiton table for the pendrive. I am not gonna post it here couse additionally, my wireless board istn working while running from the usb live cd, so it would take me looong to copy it all here. But i am sure it only shows my pendrive, never my hard drive
So, what should i do to make it recognize my hard drive?

This is a shot in the dark, but if your hard drive was formatted as FAT32 or NTFS, make sure that NTFS-3G (is an open source cross-platform implementation of the Microsoft Windows NTFS file system with read-write support for linux. ) is installed in Synaptic.

I have seen this problem before, ...where the HD will not appear, until NTFS-3G is installed.

Anyway, worth a shot.

I have been working on a large project for over 6 months. yesterday it wouldn't open. First of all it asked me to point to the video file locations for the 18 files i've been happily working on for the last 6 months, then once i got past that it give me the message:

'There is no hard disk in the drive. Please insert a hard disk into drive\Device\Harddisk2\DR2'

...and continually ceased up when i tried to skip or cancel to exit (forcing me to go to task manager to shut elements down).
