ROOT ACCOUNT AUTOLOGIN ?

ROOT ACCOUNT AUTOLOGIN ?

Postby rickygai on Sun Aug 09, 2009 10:01 pm

How to autologin in as ROOT account ?

I can autologin using non-root account and "Login Window Preferences->Security
just won't allow "Enable Automatic Login" using ROOT but I really need to
autologin as ROOT.

I have tested on Fedora 11, it can allow ROOT autologin.

is there any possble solution to this ?

Please advise.

Because gOS is based on Ubuntu it does not allow root account logins of any kind!

It uses the "sudo" mechanism to do root tasks.
GUI applications that need root access will do a sudo automatically.

Maybe "sudo su" can give you what you want.
